Birthday

It was my beautiful daughters 12th birthday on Tuesday. I can not believe how she has grown. Only seems like 5 minutes ago i was bringing her home from the hospital all nervous and excited.
She is turning into the kindest, loveliest young lady who i am so very proud of.

I love this photo of her I took in the summer, it really catches how full of life and fun she is.

Moving in

Thank  you for all the new follows, i hope you are enjoying having a look around.

A friend of ours has just moved house. So Jess made them a traybake as a moving in gift.

This part was fun!!

All finished and cut up.

The finished cake was moist with a really good chocolate hit.

Chocolate Chip and Vanilla Marble Cake - makes 21 squares

8oz soft margarine
8oz caster sugar
10 oz SR flour
2 tsp baking powder
4 eggs
2 tbsp milk
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
1 1/2 tbsp cocoa (I like Bournville cocoa for this)
2 tbsp ot water
2 oz plain chocolate chips

For icing:
2 oz plain chocolate
2oz white chocolate

Preheat the oven to 180ÂșC. Grease and base line a 12"x9" tin.

Put the margarine, sugar, flour, baking powder, eggs, milk and vanilla essence into a large bowl and beat well for about 2 minutes till well blended. Spoon half of this mixture into the prepared tin, dotting the spoonfuls apart.

Blend the cocoa with the hot water. Cool slightly and add to the remaining cake mixture along with the chocolate chips. Spoon this chocolate mixture in between the plain cake mixture to fill the gaps.

Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the cake has shrunk from the sides of the tin and springs back when pressed in the centre with your fingertips. Leave to cool in the tin.

Melt the plain and white chocolate separately. Spoon into two separate small plastic bags, snip off the corner of the bags and drizzle the chocolates all over the top of the cake to decorate. Leave to set for about 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
