Hexies

While sorting out boxes the other day I came across a hexie cushion kit I had purchased a few years ago from Kandipandi's blog

I had forgotten all about this kit!

I had already started making the hexies

I had forgotten what a easy on the go project hexies are. They really are a pleasure to work on

I hunted down some of my fabric scraps and added to the pile of already made hexies.

The cushion front is slowly growing, I will post a finished picture soon.

What do you make with hexies?

The wonderful world of snailmail

Recently while having a look around the Internet I came across a few posts on Instagram about snail mail.

The more I looked around the more I fell in love.  The envelopes, the stationary, the pens, the stickers...you get the idea.

I set about making a wanted post to put on my instagram, my phone went off within a few minutes...someone wanted to be my pen pal.  Form there on several other people left messages.

So I set about getting together a box of bits to make my letters pretty.  I really love the idea of sending some happiness through the post to a strange and making them smile.

Paperchase orders arrived...just look at that box of pretty

So I set about writing to my snail mail pals, having way to much fun with all the pretty stationary

Soon the letters started coming through my letterbox...I dashed to the mat...to find such lovely heart warming letters from all over the world.

The only problem is I think I'm a bit addicted to buying washi tape...
Can you ever have to much? ;P

Do any of you pen pal?  Leave me a comment if you would like to be mine x

Another year old

So Saturday was my birthday, does anyone else enjoy other peoples birthdays more than their own?

Saturday was a lovely day spent with my family.  A lazy start opening gift and chatting.

We decided to go out to a garden centre as the sun had decided to wish me a happy birthday too.

A good wonder, scone and chai latte.  We got lots and lots of plants to put into the garden.

Later that evening we went out for a meal, I do really love spending time as a family :)

Love that I got wished happy birthday when I opened up Google

I received lots and lots of flowers

On Sunday my daughter and I planted some of the plants we had bought the previous day.

Still lots of work to do in the garden, but very happy with the bed we planted up :)

Its been far to long

Where does time go?

How can it be April nearly?

The garden is springing into life, the day are getting wormer.  Does anyone elses mood improve with the weather?

Beautiful views, this is the view from my bedroom. I often sit for hours doing crochet and looking at the view.  Its good for the soul and so restful, taking time to just chill and take everythng in.  I dont do thisnas much as I should. Taking stock and being thankful has become part of my life the past few months.  The past 2 years have been horrible, so its important to take time and be thankful for what I have.

Stunning sunrises, I love the warm pink glow of the sun waking up coming through the clouds.

This is my go to place to chill and crochet. The light, the warmth all again good for the soul.

Working on a granny square blanket at the moment. Ive got 17 balls of wool, planning on doing a ball a week. Thats 12 squares a week.

The pile is growning :)

Im so enjoying the lovely smell and sunshine these fellows bring to the house. Ive had a bunch the past few weeks.

Im planning on keeping up to date with my blog.  Using it as a kind of theropy.  Life is not easy at the moment and my blog is going to help me focus on the good things

Chat soon xx
